One of the biggest moments in the history of Oxford and Lafayette County will occur late this fall when the new Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi opens on Belk Boulevard.
On schedule for a late November opening, the new facility is designed with patients and employees in mind, with the well-planned flow and a spacious, welcoming environment designed to serve healthcare needs in the Oxford community and region for decades into the future.
The EAGLE got an early tour of the new facility this week so we can share with readers and residents the features and qualities of the new BMH-NM. We will have photos from inside the facility and a story detailing what the community can expect from its new hospital in this Sunday’s edition of The Oxford EAGLE.
The $306 million project is unusual for a community the size of Oxford, but Baptist determined the best plan for the future of healthcare in the growth region was building from the ground up.
“Moving into the new hospital further positions us to continue our growth as a regional referral center,” said BMH-NM CEO and administrator Bill Henning, who accompanied The EAGLE on the facility tour. “We have built a facility that can meet the community’s needs for a very long time.”
