Ole Miss baseball letterwinner Byron Paul Meaut, 64, lost his courageous 13-month battle with brain cancer at his home Wednesday surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Biloxi and a resident of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Meaut was a four-year letterwinner from 1970-73. A 1969 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Biloxi, Meaut was drafted by the Montreal Expos, but chose to sign a baseball scholarship with the Rebels and pursue a degree in business.
