There is still time to cast an absentee vote in the upcoming special election for House of Representatives District 23 to fill the seat left open in December when Rep. Andy Stepp died.
However, not everyone in Lafayette County can vote.
District 23 covers parts of Lafayette County, including District 1 (Denmark, Lafayette Springs, Yocona), District 4 (Anchor and Taylor) and District 5 (Paris, Tula and Airport Gro.)
The last day to cast an absentee vote is March 22. The election is on March 25. Voters will vote at their regular precinct from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Running for District 23 representative are Perry Van Bailey, Colby Bollinger, Andy Clark, Danny Lampley, and Travis Wright.
The Lafayette County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will open on Saturday, March 22 from 8 a.m. to noon for the last day of absentee voting.
