Regents School of Oxford’s Varsity Tennis Teams won the MAIS AAA North Half Runner-Up title in both boys and girls competition Tuesday at Tunica National Golf & Tennis Club.

The team’s 10 players, led by Coaches Evan and Lauren Coughlin, all advanced to the MAIS AAA state competition.

The boys started the day strong with a first-place win by Anders Griffin and Swinton White in #2 doubles, followed by second place in #1 doubles by Harrison Yow and Stephen Williams.

Hardin Shirkey also placed second in his division of #2 boys singles. In girls play, Annalee Rogers won first place in #1 singles followed by Nila Vae Cochet and Lauren Niemeyer winning first in their division of #2 girls doubles.

Cate Callicutt and Annie Perry placed second in #1 girls doubles to secure the team’s Runner Up honors.

All 10 player participants will advance to the state tournament next week in Ridgeland:
