The Oxford Film Festival has announced the schedule and opening night film for the 21st edition of the popular film festival.
The festival will be held March 21-24 and will include a selection of 120 narrative and documentary features and shorts, experimental films, and music videos, along with film production panels from industry experts.
Each night will also conclude with a party at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center.
The festival will open on Thursday night with the screening of “Adam the First,” which was filmed here in Mississippi, directed by Irving Franco – who will be in attendance – and starring David Duchovny (“The X-Files,” “Californication,” “What Happens Later”), Oakes Fegley (“Pete’s Dragon,” “The Goldfinch”) and T.R. Knight (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Flight Attendant”).
“Adam the First” will screen at 7:30 p.m. at the Gertrude Ford Arts Center, with red carpet festivities beginning at 5:45 p.m.
The opening night screening will be preceded by a live recording of Thacker Mountain Radio, which will also take place at the Ford Theater beginning at 5 p.m. and a VIP meet-and-greet with Andrew McCarthy.
The screening will be followed by an opening night party at OPA! from 9:45 p.m. to midnight.
A variety of weekend passes and single-screening tickets to the 2024 Oxford Film Festival are currently on sale and can be purchased online at www.ox-film.com/2024-tickets.
The Oxford Film Festival is made possible, in part, by support from the Mississippi Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, South Arts, Visit Mississippi and Visit Oxford.
