Oxford man arrested after police respond to a report of a gunshot wound at the Links

An Oxford man is in custody at the Lafayette County Detention Center after allegedly shooting another man Monday evening at the Links Apartments in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, officers and first responders responded to the parking lot of Building No. 21 at the Links Monday evening after receiving a call about a man with a gunshot wound.
Officers arrived and began administering life-saving measures to the victim, while other officers began searching for a suspect.
Lakerrian Kadriaun Ruffin, 20, of Oxford, was taken into custody shortly after. A search warrant was executed on his residence, where a large quantity of narcotics was located.
The victim was transported to the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and eventually transferred to Regional One Medical in Memphis, where they are currently in stable but critical condition.
Ruffin is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. A Municipal Court Judge gave him a bond of $250,000; however, the Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on him.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Lafayette County Metro Narcotics, and the Oxford Fire Department assisted OPD during the incident.
