The Oxford Police Department is holding a public information session as part of the department’s on-site assessment to obtain an advanced accreditation award.
OPD is inviting department employees and local residents to the Oxford Police Department Training Building on February 19th at 6 p.m. to offer comments to a two-member assessment team, according to a release.
This information session is a part of a voluntary process the department is taking part in to meet the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies’ standards for advanced accreditation.
This award is considered a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence, according to the release.
The sessions will continue until all attendees have had an opportunity to provide comments.
Those who cannot attend, but still wish to voice comments about OPD, can call in and leave comments. The public can call (662) 232-1953 on Wednesday, February 20th, between 2 and 4 p.m.
OPD’s training building is located at 715 Molly Barr Road.
