Oxford man arrested for possession of a stolen firearm

- On Thursday, October 11, 2018, the Oxford Police Department arrested Jeremy Lovelace (31 of Oxford, MS) for possession of a stolen firearm. Officers with OPD received information that day about Lovelace being a suspect in a burglary. Lovelace was located at his last known address. A gun was discovered but Lovelace stated that it belonged to him. Officers ran the serial number on the gun and discovered that it was stolen. Lovelace stated that he had purchased the gun from another person. Lovelace was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on the aforementioned charge and given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.

On Oct. 11 OPD arrested Jeremy Lovelace, 31, of Oxford, after receiving information regarding Lovelace being a suspect in a burglary.
Lovelace was located at his last known address and a gun was discovered that Lovelace stated belonged to him.
After officers ran the serial number on the gun, they discovered that the gun was stolen. Lovelace stated that he purchased the gun from another person.
Lovelace was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and booked on one charge of possession of a stolen firearm and given a $5,000 bond by a Justice Court judge.
