**UPDATE: According to OPD, a man was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm in the city, public intoxication and malicious mischief. Since all charges were misdemeanors, OPD did not release the name of the suspect.

The Oxford Police Department is investigating a report of shots being fired in Oxford Thursday night.

Few details were available this morning; however, OPD Maj. Jeff McCutchen said there is a person in custody for firing a gun and formal charges are expected to be filed later today.

No injuries were reported.
