Man charged with shoplifting

The Oxford Police Department responded to Mississippi Auto Arms on Van Buren Avenue Friday after a report that someone stole merchandise and left the store.
The patrol lieutenant on shift soon spotted the suspect. The suspect vehicle was stopped and all merchandise totaling more than $1,200 was recovered. The driver was identified as William Jurney who was arrested for felony shoplifting and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,000 bond.
