Woman charged with burglary, attempted arson

An Oxford woman was charged with burglary and attempted arson after a flammable chemical was found poured on the front porch of a county home.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, deputies responded to County Road 105 to a report of an unwanted person on the property.

The complainants told the deputies that property inside and outside of the home had been damaged and a flammable chemical was discovered to have been poured on the front porch.

After an investigation, deputies arrested Adrienne Brown, 55, of Oxford, and charged them with breaking and entering a house and attempted arson.

Brown was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond; however, she had a hold placed on her by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
