Couple charged with burglary

A man and woman from Somerville, Tennessee, were arrested this weekend for allegedly burglarizing a residence and stealing a vehicle from the Square.
According to the Oxford Police Department, on Thursday, Memphis Police Department notified OPD they had Ronald Mongeon and Miranda Hurt in custody on a warrant from Oxford. The two were suspected of committing a recent residential burglary and also stealing a vehicle from the Square last weekend. The Memphis officers found the stolen vehicle parked behind Mongeon’s home. The vehicle allegedly was in the process of being broken down to be sold for parts.
The couple was brought to Oxford to the Lafayette County Detention Center where Mongeon was booked with no bond due to him being arrested while out on a previous felony bond, and Hunt was given a $10,000 bond.
