Obituary – Bennett Earl Zinn

Bennett Earl Zinn, 80, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital -North Mississippi in Oxford after an extended illness. He was born, April 5, 1939, in Bruce to the late parents of Raybon Zinn and Vivian Bennett Zinn.  He was a graduate of Lee High School, Columbus Class of 1957, and a graduate of Mississippi State University. Bennett was in industrial sales and had previously worked for Buick Motor Car Division as a car distributor.  He was an avid sports fan and a follower of Mississippi State and Ole Miss sports.  He had a passion for crappie fishing, deep sea fishing, deer, duck and quail hunting. Bennett was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Michael Lee Zinn. He is survived by his loving and dedicated family, wife, Connie Brand Zinn, Oxford; son, Bennett Earl Zinn, of Jefferson, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Zinn, Leah Nicole Zinn, Abigail Elizabeth Zinn all of Atlanta, Georgia and Madison Hope Zinn, Hannah Lian Zinn and Raybon Zinn all of Athens, Georgia; and a daughter-in-law, Cathie Zinn, of Athens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Reverend Ann Houston Kelly will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jarrad Collins, Larry Leon Collins, Jerry Franklin, Stacy Franklin, Nick Richard, Will Richard, Skip Wilson and Brandon Zinn.  Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Armstrong, Bill McClanahan and William Jay Seawright.
