Oxford Police have arrested two Oxford men – one for alleged auto burglary and another for alleged felony malicious mischief – in a span of four days.

OPD arrested a man on Tuesday, February 12th, after taking a report on a damaged vehicle over one month earlier on January 8th, according to a release from police. Police were able to obtain a description of the suspect, as well as the vehicle he was driving.

The victim signed charges on the suspect after getting two quotes for repairs, and the suspect turned himself in to police. OPD arrested Robert Patterson, 25 of Oxford, for felony malicious mischief and booked him in the Lafayette County Detention Center.

A Justice Court Judge set Patterson’s bond at $1,000.

A few days later, police responded to reports of an alleged auto burglary where the suspect also allegedly stole a cellular device.

OPD responded to the report on February 15th, located the suspect and arrested them. Anthony Sockwell, 31 of Oxford, was arrested on one count of auto burglary and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

A Justice Court Judge set Sockwell’s bond at $5,000.
