Mrs. Geraldine Bynum Hagen, 80, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews’ United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Owen officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in All Faiths Memorial Park in Casselberry, Fla. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Water Valley, Miss., Mrs. Hagen was a member of St. Andrews’ United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the choir.
Mrs. Hagen was a retired court reporter, talented writer and poet whose work was published in the Lafayette Shopper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Arthur Hagen and two brothers, James Mackey Bynum and Roger Bynum.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Hagen Cabrera of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Doris Harrison of Ellison Bay, Wisc. and Linda Dalton of Oxford; five brothers, Steve Bynum of Oxford, Charles Bynum of Hattiesburg, Miss., Tony Bynum of Oxford, Joe Bynum of Oxford and Eddie Bynum of Cookville, Tenn. and two grandchildren, Rachel Cabrera and Colin Cabrera, both of Miami.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hagen’s memory may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 431 N. 16th Street, Oxford, MS 38655.
