The Oxford Film Festival Monday Movies series will continue on Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Burns Belfry Museum and Multicultural Center.

The film, “All the Difference,” centers around the struggles of two young African-American men from Chicago’s South Side who dream of graduating from college. Statistics predict the two, Robert and Krishaun, will drop out of high school, but they have other plans.

An intimate film directed and produced by the Oscar®-nominated Tod Lending and executive produced by author Wes Moore, “All the Difference” follows the young men through five years of hard work, sacrifice, setbacks and uncertainty. In a nod to the title, the pair discovers support from family, teachers and mentors makes all the difference in defying the odds.

The event is free to the public, thanks to support from the Mississippi Humanities Council and the PBS POV Series, but to secure a seat, tickets may be acquired at oxfordfilmfest.com.

The Oxford Film Festival was founded in 2003 to bring “exciting, new, and unusual films and the people who create them” to North Mississippi, according to its website. The annual five-day festival screens short and feature-length films in both showcase and competition settings.

The September Monday Movie will be “Cameraperson,” a documentary about female filmmakers in conjunction with SarahFest.
