A crow may be the cause of a large power outage that happened this morning on the west side of Oxford, according to Oxford Electric Department Superintendent Rob Neely.
The crow apparently caused a fuse to open near the West Jackson Avenue McDonald’s, which caused a lost circuit out of the Old Taylor Road substation, which supplies power to a section of the western part of town.
Approximately 1,500 customers along West Jackson Avenue and a portion of Highway 6 near Old Taylor Road were affected and lost power for about 15 minutes.
