For now, the College Football Playoff rankings remain the same at the top.
Alabama stayed at No. 1 in the latest rankings released Tuesday and was followed by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Clemson for the second straight week. Washington took advantage of Louisville’s loss to Houston last week to move up to No. 5 while Wisconsin is the highest-ranked two-loss team at No. 6.
Penn State, Oklahoma, Colorado and Oklahoma State rounded out the top 10, respectively. Southern Cal came in at No. 13 as the highest-ranked team with three losses.
New rankings will be released each week until the end of the regular season with the final poll coming out Dec. 4. The national semifinals will pit No. 1 against No. 4 and No. 2 against No. 3 in the Peach and Fiesta bowls on Dec. 31 with the winners squaring off in the national championship game Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Exactly which teams will finish in the top 4 will start to clear up after rivalry weekend. Michigan will travel to Ohio State on Saturday for an 11 a.m. kickoff while Oklahoma State will host Oklahoma at 11:30 a.m.
Other Saturday matchups that could have an impact on the playoff picture include the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, Clemson hosting South Carolina, Minnesota traveling to Wisconsin and Penn State’s trip to Michigan State.
