Cowboy Maloney’s closed on Thanksgiving Day, but Black Friday deals start early

Some businesses have started opening on Thanksgiving Day in recent years to try and get a head start on holiday retail sales.
But don’t expect Cowboy Maloney’s to be in that group — the popular retailer is saving its fun for Black Friday 2016.
The wives of the famed Mississippi Maloney brothers who own and operate Cowboy Maloney’s retail stores have said all Cowboy Maloney’s locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day so employees and shoppers can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Then, the shopping deals will crank up early Friday morning for Black Friday.
The Maloney men, including Con, Eddie and Johnny, agree with their wives that Thanksgiving is not meant for shopping.
Since Cowboy Maloney’s is a family business, they held their Christmas Party for their associates in October at the Mississippi State Fair, hosting around 500 associates and family members to a night of rides, food and fun with their families.
“Being in retail, we know how tough it is to find time to take off in December so we have our Christmas Party in October,” Con Maloney said.
Betty Maloney, Rhoda Maloney and Sharon Maloney, the Maloney wives, said: “Thanksgiving Day is for families to spend time together.”
But starting Black Friday, at 7:30 in the morning, Cowboy Maloney’s will have Black Friday Specials for you while they last and you can see them in the Eagle’s Thanksgiving Day Paper.
