Barbecue establishment Lamar Lounge, on 1309 N. Lamar Blvd, recently closed for renovations and an overhaul of their menu.
In a statement to The EAGLE, John Currence, the owner of City Grocery Restaurant Group, who has been in charge of leading the menu changes, said that the restaurant will be switching over to Italian fare.
“We plan to have a soft opening on October 31,” Currence said. “We just decided after several years of trying to make the original concept work and we just couldn’t support it. So we’re doing something that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time which is an American red sauce restaurant with traditional Italian dishes.”
