Another region match, another sweep for Oxford volleyball

The Oxford High volleyball team continued its dominance against Class II, Region 3 opponents Thursday with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-9) win at Clarksdale.
The Chargers (16-4, 4-0 Class II, Region 3) have won each of their first four region matches by way of a sweep. Jessica Hill had a team-high six aces in the win.
Oxford will return to action Tuesday for another region match at Holmes County Central beginning at 5:30 p.m.
‘Dores sweep
Lafayette improved to 3-1 in Class II, Region 4 play with a 3-0 win over New Hope on Thursday at the LHS gym.
The Commodores (13-4) took the first set 25-14 and the second set 25-11 before closing it out with a 25-15 victory in the final set.
Lafayette will stay in region play Tuesday with a trip to Pontotoc. The junior varsity match will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow.
WVHS starts fast in region
Water Valley opened Class I, Region 2 play Thursday with a pair of sweeps over Marks Palmer.
The Blue Devils claimed a 3-0 win (25-5, 25-6, 25-18) in the first game before winning 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-9) again in the nightcap.
Water Valley will be back in action Monday at South Panola starting at 6 p.m.
