Greatness will emerge from this Ole Miss freshman class.
This year’s group is the largest ever in the University of Mississippi’s history, with 3,982, but it is also the most accomplished.
The average ACT score for Ole Miss freshman is 25.2, the highest ever, and the class also boasts 87 class valedictorians, 54 salutatorians, 94 student body presidents, 92 Eagle Scouts, and 13 Girl Scouts who achieved the organization’s Gold Award.
The university has a history of producing world-class talent that makes an impact in the world, from accountants to scientists, lawyers, teachers, business leaders, doctors, politicians and so many more.
But greatness knows no boundaries, and Ole Miss is charging into fertile ground. Growth is one thing , but quality growth is another.
Challenges remain with Ole Miss’ growth, particularly in Oxford where infrastructure is tapped in some areas beyond what the city can handled.
The positives far outweigh the negatives, however, particularly considering the types of students the university is successfully recruiting these days.
The Ole Miss freshman class of 2016 is its most talented ever and we have no doubt they will do great things in the years ahead.
