Hospital sale appears near

With the purchase agreement process close to an end, the city and county attorneys updated local leaders on the status on what appears to be a successful conclusion of negotiations that began two years ago.

City Attorney Pope Mallette said it could be as early as next week for the Oxford Board of Aldermen to approve the sale of the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, with a closing set for 10 to 15 days after.

County Attorney David O’Donnell briefed the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors on the progress.
