Man charged with felony shoplifting

On Monday at 9 a.m., Oxford police officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a man stealing electronics.
On arrival, the officers located the suspect and arrested Daniel Alexander Jones, 21, of Tupelo. He was charged with felony shoplifting and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,500 bond.
Shoplifting becomes a felony when the value of the items stolen is more than $1,000.
