Mr. and Mrs. John Pierce and Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Smith announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Ann Pierce to Bobby Wayne Huckaby of Thaxton.

The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m. March 12, 2016, at Church of the Living God, 320 Stockard Road in Thaxton, with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Pierce of Yocona and Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Jones of Sardis.

A 2002 graduate from Oxford High School, she is currently a stay-at-home mother of two boys, Xavier and Johnathan Pierce.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne Huckaby of Oxford and the grandson of the late James Huckaby of Water Valley; Inez Tutor of Calhoun, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Winford Pruett.

A 1996 graduate of Lafayette High School, he is currently employed as a truck driver for KLLM Trucking Company of Jackson.
