Gladys Ramona Odio Baglioni, 95, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Joe Tonos officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by the rosary service at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Atenas, Costa Rica, she had a bachelor of arts in history and received her master’s degree to teach the deaf, mute and blind. She taught in San Jose, Costa Rica and then went on to establish the educational programs in Panama. She met and married Victor, becoming a military wife who was involved in Navy activities and raising her two children. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church upon moving to the area after hurricane Katrina. Before Katrina, she was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Moss Point and was active in her church community through their Hispanic ministry and pastoral service. She enjoyed visiting the local nursing home where she organized bingo and visiting the sick.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Minor of Oxford; son, Edward Baglioni  of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Will Odio of San Jose’, Costa Rica; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
