Thomas Ashley Crowe, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he served in the United States Air Force as a staff sergeant during the Vietnam War. Dr. Crowe was the first dean of the School of Applied Sciences at the University of Mississippi after serving as chairman of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at the University of Mississippi for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cross Crowe of Oxford; two sons, Mark Alden Crowe of Jacksonville, Florida, and Bradley Thomas Crowe of Oxford; and eight grandchildren.
