The Oxford Surgery Center has completed a 4,620-square-foot expansion designed to enhance its capacity to deliver advanced surgical care to Oxford residents and communities across north Mississippi.

The expansion underscores OSC’s commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare.

“This project ensures that Oxford and North Mississippi residents have access to cutting-edge surgical capabilities close to home,” said Cooper Terry, MD, founder of Oxford Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and medical director for OSC. “As our community continues to grow, patients will benefit from the expanded offerings and additional operating rooms.”

The expansion increases OSC’s footprint by more than 30%, bringing the total square footage to 19,280. It also adds three surgical suites, bringing the total to seven and a new central sterile processing room. Oxford Ortho’s new dedicated operating rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art robotic technology.

“Robotic-assisted technology enhances precision and outcomes,” said Daniel Boyd, MD, a fellowship-trained surgeon in sports medicine and total joint replacement at Oxford Ortho. “Our expanded capacity at OSC ensures that our community can access these advancements.”

Oxford Ortho & Sports Medicine, whose surgeons perform procedures at OSC, has been the trusted orthopedic team physicians for all Ole Miss Athletics Teams for over 12 years. This expansion will advance care for community members and support athletes of all levels across North Mississippi.

“The entire facility was renovated to create a modernized environment that enhances the patient experience,” said Jared Travis, OSC Administrator. “We are committed to meeting the growing healthcare needs of our community.”

Since opening in 2001, over 81,500 procedures have been performed at OSC.

OSC’s recognitions, including its designation as a BlueCross BlueShield Blue Distinction Specialty Care Center and its 93.24% Press Ganey patient satisfaction score, highlight its commitment to quality.
