This water-damaged print was found in the rubble of the 1986 Country Village Mall fire. That fact just adds character. 

I well remember Dad jumping out of the car in front of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Parham’s house on N. 14th Street to get the shot. He hurried because the cars were backed up from Jefferson to North Lamar with wide-eyed kids waiting their turn to gaze at the thousands of lights.

Every small town has its special houses for the holidays, and for the kids of the 1970s the Parham home was a special Oxford-only treat.
