Two Thaxton men face felony charges for theft

Two Thaxton men were arrested recently for allegedly stealing $6,500 from an individual.

On Oct. 25, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit received a report from a victim regarding missing funds from their bank account.

Investigators discovered that $6,595 was allegedly stolen from the victim’s bank account and used on a Green Dot Card.

The transaction history was requested and the suspects were identified using the card from video surveillance footage.

Jacob Wayne Tomason 36, and Tyler Chase Pardue, 25, both of Thaxton, were arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with felony false pretenses.

Tomason is currently on parole and is also being held by MDOC.

Both suspects appeared before a Justice Court Judge and received a bond of $10,000. Both suspects are being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center.
