Opinions are everywhere, even on car bumpers

This has been a weird spring, summer, fall and expectations of winter are the same. My 1964 Land Rover Series 88, IIA, is demanding my attention, as is my bought new 1971, mint, MGB-GT – but 1996 Volvo with rare 5-speed 850 wagon has unusually received all the consuming attention and$$!. 2012 KIA Soul, second new car, is squared away…sort of.
Then there’s all this heart stuff and other health issues that are sapping my brain, time, and energy – literally.
As usual for my Eagle columns, I have three different drafts started and dozens of ideas rattling around in my wee brain and have to write them a week ahead of due date…like now, on Monday, November 4, due to my editor on Thursday, November 7, 5:00 pm, to be published in the Wednesday edition, November 13….
Tuesday, November 5th was Election Day, parked Volvo at the Oxford Conference Center on Jackson Ave. at 7:53am, small line, voted, and out by 8:03 am. This is a time to heal and pull together as we desperately need each other!
Saturday, November 9 is a pivotal game as our #16 Rebels, 7-2, square off in the Vaught with #2, 7-1, Georgia. Bumper-to-bumper traffic on Lamar, as with the Oklahoma game, will start today, I mean last Thursday, continue on Friday, and will stretch from the traffic light at University across Highway 6 and to the old hospital. I love Georgia, a class school.
Monday, November 11, was Veterans Day – Go Vets. Thank You for your service, especially you who fought overseas and nearly died (Vietnam, July 1969-July1970) me.
So, writing in the “present,” I’d say, “Today” at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 13, will meet with my cardiologist, Dr. Mark Campbell, to ‘finally’ get the results of my Nuclear Stress Test of Halloween (appropriately) October 31, having to wait 14 days for the results of this potentially life-changing result and stress, about the Stress Test until now! Too late to disclose what I pray is good news – thanks, prayer warriors! Will post results next column. Sorry for all my health posts, but it’s where I am.
All this health stuff, and it’s with my friends as well! When we get together, we first trade health issues, old and new, doctor visits, procedures, then – so how are your vehicle projects, what do you think of that Ole Miss game Saturday?
Driving about cannot shut off my Behaviorist observations: People who have fences around their house with the negative side out are way conceited – it’s all about them. People with stickers all over their vehicle’s back glass and bumper have an opinion about everything and when their mouths quit running they continue on their cars!.. Perfect hair, makeup, dress – stiff, insecure person. Loud, bullying, obnoxious drive a big’ o truck, on your bumper – insecure person, warped, “dumbass.”
Having never experienced romantic “true” love, have thankfully felt “unconditional” friend love, like from my St. John’s church family, others, biological family, oldest son and daughter-in-law. That is, affection without any strings or conditions from the most secure persons who know themselves and is the best most free kind of love; accepted, wats and all….
Pray we beat Georgia, off “this” week and beat Florida! Then them dogs here on Friday, November, 29….. GO REBELS!! Win Out! We got this.
THANK YOU, God, church family, biological family, Jag, Prayer Warriors, Jeremy, Rebecca…I love and need you.
