Oxford’s Olympians, Sam Kendricks and Shelby McEwen will be co-Grand Marshals in this year’s Christmas parade. 

According to organizers, both silver medalists have accepted the honor.

Both men won silver medals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in Paris this summer in their respective sports — Kendricks in men’s pole vault and McEwen in men’s high jump.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the University of Mississippi Museum on 5th Street and travel through the historic downtown Square. 

This year’s theme is Candy Land.
