Oxford man charged with having a gun while being a felon

An Oxford man was arrested recently for allegedly having a gun while being a convicted felon.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 12, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Highway 6 West for an equipment violation.
The driver, Darrion Morris, 29, of Oxford, was allegedly in possession of a firearm. He also had an outstanding warrant from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and booked on a $10,000 bond for the new charge; however, MDOC has placed a hold on him.
