Lafayette falls to Horn Lake at home

The Lafayette Commodores came up short in their home opener on Friday night against Horn Lake with a final score of 34-17.
Lafayette starts the season 0-2.
Horn Lake jumped out to an early 7-0 advantage and added two more scores late in the second quarter to go up 20-0.
The Commodores got on the scoreboard with a field goal just before halftime to make the score 20-3.
Horn Lake scored a touchdown in the third quarter to go up 27-3.
The Commodores answered in the quarter with a touchdown as Nick Thompson found Charvon Bell in the corner of the end zone. Lafayette cut Horn Lake’s advantage to 27-10 in the third.
Lafayette scored in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard run by Thompson that made the score 27-17 Horn Lake.
Horn Lake answered on its next possession with a touchdown on a 75-yard run to go up 34-17.
Lafayette returns to action next Friday as they play host to IAHS. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
