Lafayette Post 55 falls to Pontotoc in Junior Legion game

The Lafayette Post 55 fell to the Pontotoc Red Sox on Saturday 12-1 on the road in Junior legion action.
Lafayette (0-3) got on the board in the first with a run on an RBI walk by Taylor John.
John took the mound for Lafayette in the bottom of the first. Pontotoc answered with two runs to take the lead 2-1.
The Red Sox added two more runs in the second to go up 4-1.
John worked 2.0 plus innings and surrendered six runs on five hits with five walks and no strikeouts.
Pontotoc scored six runs in the third to go up 10-1.
Lafayette brought Max Roberts out of the bullpen in the third. Roberts tossed a third of an inning and allowed four runs on two hits with three walks.
Lafayette got hits from Easton Thompson and Landon Cobbs. The Post 55 didn’t commit a single error in the game.
The Post 55 turned to Collin Waldrip for 1.2 innings against Pontotoc.
Pontotoc scored their final two runs in the fourth inning to make it 12-1.
Waldrip allowed two runs on four hits with a strikeout.
Lafayette returns to action on Tuesday as they take on MS Tropics 15U at Lafayette. The game is set for 5:30 p.m.
