Thursday will mark the culmination of 12+ years of hard work for 221 Lafayette High School seniors who are ready to toss their caps high into the sky.

The LHS Commencement Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at The Pavilion on the University of Mississippi campus.

This year’s valedictorian, Caroline Norris, is the daughter of Daniel and Leigh Norris. After graduation, she will be majoring in mechanical engineering at Mississippi State University.

While at LHS, she was inducted into the Lafayette High School Hall of Fame, an AP Scholar, received the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, and was in the ACT 30+ Club.

Salutatorian, Cameron Bolen, is the son of Martin Bolen and Aubrey Bolen. He plans on attending the University of Mississippi where he will pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental music education with a minor in mathematics.

While at LHS, he was part of the ACT 30+ Club, the PSAT 1300+ Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Mississippi Quiz Bowl Championship Individual Runner-Up, Mississippi STAR Student, National Merit Semifinalist and National Merit Finalist, John Philip Sousa Award, Mississippi Lions All-State Band, an AP Scholar with Distinction and won the College Board Rural and Small Town Award.

Hall of Fame inductees include: Oliva Ball, Andrew Jordan, Katelynn Kirkendall and Caroline Norris.
