Oxford Chargers complete the sweep over Corinth

The Oxford Chargers completed the sweep over Corinth by the score of 6-0 on Friday on the road.
Oxford (19-9) and Corinth had no score after the first two innings of the game.
The Chargers starter Brady Stinnett allowed a double in the first and had a quick 1-2-3 frame in the second.
In the third, Oxford got a double by Jack Gaia and single by Sharpe Smith to start the inning. Reid Kent grounded out to short that brought in the first run. Sam Roy delivered a base hit to right field that scored the second run.
Oxford added four more runs in the fifth on base knocks by Roy and Carson Schmelzer to go up 6-0.
Stinnett worked 5.0 innings surrendered no runs on a hit with two walks and seven strikeouts.
The Chargers brought Hayes Huggins to the mound in the sixth. Huggins tossed an inning surrendered no runs on a hit with a walk and strikeout.
Robert Upchurch took over on the bump in the seventh for Oxford. Upchurch pitched a inning with a strikeout.
Oxford plays host to Germantown on Friday. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
