The LHS Quiz Bowl Varsity and Junior Varsity teams competed at the NAQT State Championships on April 6 in Fulton.

The JV team had victories over Southaven, Itawamba, and TCPS, and were declared the JV State Champions. The JV team consisted of Kara Coleman, Bella Dassance, Gray Fisher, Acyn Harrell, Izzy Kuhn, and Christopher Fernandez Interiano.

The Varsity team consisted of Cameron Bolen, Cole Garvin, Andrew Phillips, and Aleks Stupal.

They had victories over Itawamba and Starkville and placed fourth in the state.

Cameron Bolen, Gray Fisher and Izzy Kuhn picked up individual honors. Izzy finished sixth in JV in most points scored; Cameron finished second overall in most points scored and first overall in most tossups answered; and Gray finished second in JV and fifth overall in most points scored, fourth overall in most tossups answered, and fifth overall in most powers answered.

It was the team’s first season at LHS.
