Lafayette softball falls to Corinth 4-2

The Lafayette Commodores softball fell to the Corinth Warriors 4-2 on Thursday.
Corinth took an early 3-0 advantage in the second inning and added their final run in the fourth to go up 4-0 on the Commodores.
Lafayette (16-6, 2-2 5A Region 1) got on the scoreboard in the fifth with a run and another in the sixth inning.
Lafayette was led at the plate by Tashika Carothers, who went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
The Commodores had Sydney Cregar in the circle. Cregar worked 7.0 innings and allowed four runs on 11 hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Lafayette returns to the field on Tuesday as they play host to the Pontotoc Warriors. The first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
