Lafayette Commodores defeat Pontotoc on the road

The Lafayette Commodores beat Pontotoc 5-1 on the road Thursday night.
Lafayette (15-5) jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Pontotoc in the second as Aleck Farmer doubled to left.
Farmer was on the bump for the Commodores and kept Pontotoc scoreless through the first two innings.
In the third, Lafayette added a run.
Pontotoc answered in the third with a run of their own to make it 3-1.
Lafayette tacked on another run in the fourth.
The Commodores added their final run in the seventh inning to make it 5-1.
Farmer tossed five complete innings allowing one run on two hits with five walks and five strikeouts.
East came into pitch in the sixth and tossed the final two innings with no runs on hits two runners walked and three strikeouts.
Lafayette got RBIs off the bats of Brody Breithaupt, Jack East and Farmer.
At the plate, Farmer finished the game going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs.
Lafayette returns to the diamond on Tuesday as they take on New Hope on the road. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
