Oxford Chargers softball defeats Southaven

The Oxford Chargers softball team defeated Southaven 14-6 on Thursday.
Oxford (6-8) jumped out to a 9-0 advantage after the second inning.
Southaven answered with four runs in the third.
In the fourth inning, both teams scored two runs each in the frame.
Oxford added a pair of runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Oxford got three RBIs each from AF Leflore and Lindsey Gillis. Gillis finished the game going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored and three RBIs.
In the circle for Oxford was Paisley Walls who worked 7.0 innings allowed six runs (four earned) on 12 hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
Oxford returns to action on Thursday at Lewisburg. The first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
