Oxford softball wins over Horn Lake

Oxford softball is coming off a run-ruled 16-0 victory over Horn Lake on Thursday night on the road.
Oxford (5-4, 1-0 District) scored 13 runs in the second inning at the plate. The Chargers opened the first with three runs.
The Chargers got a home run by Addy Shorter, a triple by MC King and a double off the bat of Lindsey Gillis in the game.
Gills finished the game going 2-for-3 with two hits, three RBIs and a double. Shorter hit the lone home run for the Chargers. She went 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI.
Oxford had Paisley Walls in the circle against Horn Lake. She tossed 2.2 innings and surrendered no runs on a hit with three strikeouts.
Oxford returns to action on Monday, March 18, on the road at Myrtle. The first pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m.
