Oxford Chargers defeat Rankin

The Oxford Chargers defeated Northwest Rankin 2-0 on Wednesday night at Edwin Moak Field.
Oxford (6-4) got a run in the fifth on a squeeze bunt byJack Gaia that drove in the first run. The Chargers added an additional run in the sixth off the bat of Sam Roy
On the mound, the Chargers used Josh Scruggs (picked up the win) for 2.2 innings, Barrett Kamman for 4 complete innings and Robert Upchurch tossed an inning and recorded the save.
Between Scruggs and Kamman they recorded a total of 10 strikeouts.
Oxford returns to the diamond this evening as they travel to Batesville to take on the South Panola Tigers. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
