This is the final installation in the EAGLE’s 10-part Coronavirus Heroes series. This week’s Coronavirus Hero is Dr. Kimberly L. Webb, of Webb Family Medical Clinic in Water Valley.
Dr. Kimberly L. Webb was honored as the Doctor of the Day for the Mississippi State Capitol on Wednesday, June 24.
Every year, the Mississippi State Medical Association staffs the Capitol Medical Unit during the legislative session with a full-time nurse and a volunteer physician.
“I had never actually been inside the Capitol, and what a beautiful building,” Dr. Webb said. “I enjoyed meeting and talking to our local Senators and Representatives. Everyone was very hospitable and interested in how Coronavirus has changed the medical environment.”
She not only toured the Capitol building, but also met state Representatives and Senators and treated them on site.
“Doctor of the Day provides emergency services and treatment of common illnesses for legislators at the Capitol Medical Clinic,” Webb said. “I felt very honored to be a part of this.”
Treating members of state legislature during a pandemic is not something Webb said she ever anticipated doing, but she was ready to face the challenge as lawmakers discussed some of the state’s most pivotal decisions.
Webb is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, and lives in Water Valley with her husband and their five kids. At the end of 2019, she left her job at Baptist Medical Group in Calhoun City to open up her own clinic in Water Valley.
Webb Family Medical Clinic is located on Main Street and focuses on quality patient care.
They provide services ranging from telemedicine, lab tests, wellness support, treatment of common illnesses, onsite digital x-rays, well-baby checks, gynecology exams, weight management and Botox to reduce and prevent wrinkles.
