Tractor Supply Company is one step closer to reality for Oxford.
During their May meeting on Monday, the City’s planning commission approved the final site plan for the store’s Oxford location.
The store’s plan was approved, along with the final site plan for Phase 1 of The Summit at Oxford Commons commercial subdivision, where Tractor Supply will be located. The Summit is planned to be built along Ed Perry Boulevard, with Tractor Supply Company being located near the Highway 30 and Ed Perry Boulevard intersection.
The location will take up roughly three acres of land between the ABC Learning Center and the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. City code requires at least 107 parking spots, but Tractor Supply only planning to have 62, which the commission chose to allow.
A time table is not known on when the store would be constructed, as the land has yet to be cleared. Initial layouts of the site include a road that would run down the west side of the parking lot and connect to other proposed shopping centers along Ed Perry Boulevard to the south of Tractor Supply Co.
Permits will not be granted until the Board of Aldermen has approved The Summit’s Phase 1 site plan.
This is the second commercial businesses to be approved in the area. Earlier this year, the planning commission approved the site plan for Oxford’s first Waffle House location. The proposed Waffle House will also be located along Ed Perry Boulevard, but construction has yet to begin.
