Ole Miss has not announced when the beginning of Lane Kiffin’s first spring as the Rebels head coach will be, but they have announced when his first Grove Bowl experience will take place.
The athletics department revealed via their social media accounts the 2020 Grove Bowl weekend will be April 17 through 19 with the Rebels’ annual spring scrimmage taking place on April 18. It’s a couple weeks later than when the Grove Bowl has been held in recent years, indicating Kiffin’s first spring practices in Oxford will start a little later as well.
Along with the football team capping their spring drills on that Saturday, both the Ole Miss baseball and softball teams have a pivotal home Southeastern Conference series that weekend as well. The baseball team is hosting Vanderbilt, while the softball team is hosting Alabama.
More information regarding the weekend, which also includes the annual Chucky Mullins Award ceremony the morning of the Grove Bowl, will be announced later, according to the athletics department.
The last two weekends in April will be a busy time for Oxford. The following weekend is the 25th Annual Double Decker Arts Festival taking over the Downtown Square.
