The Associated Press released its week three edition of the Mississippi high school football polls on Wednesday, as voted by various media members throughout the state. As with week two, both Oxford and Lafayette landed in the top 10 schools in the state, with Water Valley appearing in the top 5 of the Class 3A ranks.

Oxford and Lafayette both picked up wins this past week, with Water Valley holding steady with a bye week. For Lafayette, it was an impressive win over defending 6A champions Horn Lake a week ago. Across town, Oxford bounced back in dominant form over Grenada.
