Two men are facing burglary charges stemming from an incident at an Oxford Dollar General last month, while a third person is currently in custody.
On July 31, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to the Dollar General on Highway 7 South for a report of an auto burglary. During the investigation the officers learned that Thaddeous Johnson, 29 of Byhalia, and Rashard Brown, 25 of Ripley, were two of the three individuals responsible for the burglary. On Aug. 1, the Ripley Police Department arrested both men and transported them to the Union County Jail.
Brown and Johnson were then transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with auto burglary. Each were given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge. A third individual is being held at the Union County Jail on an unrelated charge and has not been formally charged yet.
