Double Decker Arts Festival earns Pinnacle Award

 Visit Oxford MS, the official tourism marketing organization for Oxford recently announced that the Double Decker Arts Festival won the Bernice Linton Outstanding Event Award for large cities at the Mississippi Pinnacle Awards Gala hosted by the Sales & Marketing Professionals of Hattiesburg on  April 8.

For the third year, Hattiesburg’s Sales & Marketing Professionals hosted the Mississippi Pinnacle Awards, honoring five Humanitarians and five Pinnacle Award recipients. These recipients represent the superb achievements and talents of Mississippi’s business owners, directors, account executives, event planners, marketers and community volunteers.

“We are so honored that Double Decker Arts Festival was recognized with the Outstanding Event Award; it’s a true reflection of how this event has grown from a humble community gathering into one of the Southeast’s most celebrated festivals,” said Kinney Ferris, executive director of Visit Oxford. “Each year, Double Decker draws visitors from across the region, giving up-and-coming musicians and artists an incredible platform to share their talents while making a significant economic impact on our community. We’re proud of how the festival showcases what makes Oxford so special, and we can’t wait to welcome even more visitors this weekend for the 28th year of Double Decker!”

Inspired by the iconic red double-decker bus imported from England in 1994, this award-winning festival, in its 28th year, is a celebration of food, music and the arts and takes place this week on Friday and Saturday.
