It was our cool hippie, headshop before cool hippie, headshops were cool. 

Like memories of Ron Shapiro and the Hoka, and Mae Helen Flowers behind Kiamie’s counter, Willie Wallace was bigger than his great little shop, Local Color.

Early on, Willie served wide-eyed students, amazed at all the merchandise, to turn around a couple of decades later and serve their kids. 

His long business career sealed his place among those special Oxford and Ole Miss faces.
